Prince Kuhio Plaza and all other amenities. Lovely pastoral setting with several homes on one
acre. Projected opening is December 2019.

How we can help…
We anticipate capacity for 10 residents. All of whom will receive the following services:
Free utilities
Landscaping
Three healthy and delicious meals per day
Transportation to activities and appointments
Expanded basic cable service
Weekly housekeeping and trash removal
Weekly linen service
Individualized call systems for emergencies
Social programs for families
Community engagement
Community fruit and vegetable farm both for hobby and to provide sustainable produce

is the ability to assist residents to rent out their existing homes in order to afford to live in our
community.

No buy-in…
With no buy-in fees, our aim is to help our Hilo seniors avoid having to go on Medicaid for
housing. When you enroll in Medicaid to cover services, there is a lien placed on your
residence. This lien can prevent you from being able to pass down your home to your
children/family.

What your life could look like…
We want to keep our seniors active, engaged in the community and supportive of one another.
Essentially the residents of Makamae House will become like family. Science shows that this
type of connection supports healthy aging.
